The primary objective of the ASHE Institutes on Equity and Critical Policy Analysis is to strengthen the research capacities of emerging scholars and early-career policy analysts to study racial and ethnic equity in higher education and to expand and diversify research methods and analytical frames to infuse critical perspectives in the study of race and equity in higher education.
To this end, the activities of the ASHE Institutes are intended for advanced doctoral students, early career policy analysts and tenure-track assistant professors whose work involves equity issues in postsecondary education. ASHE Fellows are selected through a highly selective application process and attend one of the summer Institutes to further their scholarship and advocacy of equity and critical policy analysis within higher education.
While there are many events planned as part of the Equity Institutes, the hallmark of this grant project is the summer institutes. The dates of the Institutes are provided below. Please visit the Institutes website for more information regarding the 2010 program.
