Higher Education Learning Briefs
Research-grounded commentary on an Inside Higher Ed news story
Higher Education Learning Brief Components
Each submitted higher education learning brief should include:
- Inside Higher Ed news story that has been pre-selected and posted to the CAHEP website or authors can propose Inside Higher Ed new story of their choice,
- Commentary (1,000 word maximum) offering insights from the research literature to inform the problem(s) of practice or policy raised/inferred to in the news story,
- 4-5 discussion questions about the topic suitable for engaged classroom or professional development dialogue, and
- 4-6 suggested readings from the scholarly literature.
Target Audience
The targeted audience for the higher education learning brief includes:
- Faculty who teach graduate students in higher education programs
- Administrators and policy makers who influence decisions about higher education
Publication Format
Briefs will be linked to and from Inside Higher Ed and ASHE websites.
