ASHE-Lumina Grant Collaboration
The Association for the Study of Higher Education is pleased to announce that it has received an $80,000 grant from the Lumina Foundation. These funds will support research and collaborations leading up to, and at, the 2018 ASHE Conference.
The funded initiatives, open to all ASHE members, will support scholarly and community based activities, connect researchers and communities, and build members capacity to perform ‘woke’ research that makes a difference. Comprised of four components, the grant will advance these goals by documenting ‘woke approaches’ for creating and sustaining equitable and inclusive campus environments, implementing the inaugural ASHE Institute on Community-Engaged Research (ICER), hosting a screening of “Tell Them We Are Rising: The Story of Black Colleges and Universities ”and panel discussion, and sponsoring a town-hall convening on college attainment for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women of color during the 2018 ASHE Conference in Tampa, Florida.
