Early Career Faculty Workshop
Now in its 11th year, the Council for the Advancement of Higher Education Programs (CAHEP) offers an Early Career Faculty Workshop to assistant professors, new associate professors in higher education programs, and advanced doctoral students at the dissertation stage who intend to become faculty. This year’s workshop will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel in Tampa, Florida. A diverse group of recently tenured faculty and senior scholars from around the country will share advice and expertise about how to craft and develop a research agenda, effectively teach and advise, earn tenure and promotion, and shape a successful and meaningful career. The workshop will accommodate up to 30 participants. A networking dinner with participants and program directors will immediately follow the workshop.
Applications and nominations will be accepted until 5pm (EST) Friday, September 14th. The nomination form can be downloaded here.
There is a $125 fee to participate. While participants can pay the fee, we suggest program directors or coordinators sponsor participants through their department. Applications should be emailed to ASHE@unlv.edu. If you have any questions about the payment, please call the ASHE Office at 702-895-2737. All other questions can be directed to the Early Career Faculty Workshop Chair, Gloria Crisp at Gloria.firstname.lastname@example.org.

Pre-Conference Session Program
CAHEP will convene sessions on Thursday morning immediately prior to the start of the ASHE General Conference. The focus of this program is on the understanding and enrichment of higher education graduate programs. The event is open to all, although program coordinators are especially encouraged to attend. All are invited to submit session proposals and all session types will be considered. Please see the ASHE Call for proposals for more information on how to submit a session in the same way as one would for the General Conference (deadline to submit is also the same). Questions may be directed to Crystal Chambers, Pre-Conference Chair, CAHEP.
