2021 Chair Resources

Serving as Chair during the ASHE Conference is an important task that ensures session participants are involved in a well-managed session. Chairs are responsible for assisting the Presenters and the Discussant before and during the session. Chairs will support the discussant and presenters by keeping time, organizing the session, and providing structure to the session. We have developed a Presenter Guide to support Chairs as you prepare for your sessions.

Webinar: Best Practices for a High Quality Chair Process

Monday, September 27, 2021
1:00PM Atlantic/San Juan Time

Session Chairs serve as ambassadors for ASHE and are responsible for helping to ensure an impactful session at our annual conference. In this one-hour webinar, we will clarify the purpose and role of the Session Chair. We will share best practices in providing clarity, organization and structure for Presenters, Discussants and attendees.

Three past Chairs, Julia Karpicz, Chase McNamee, and T.J. Stewart will join the webinar to share their perspectives and strategies.  Whether it's your first time serving as Chair and you want to learn more about the process or you would like to be reacclimated to the role, we hope you'll join us.
