This workshop brings together leading scholars and practitioners engaged in research and practice on professional development programming for mid-career faculty members.
This workshop is intended for mid-career faculty including associate professors and those faculty members who are full professors, but with 15 years plus remaining prior to retirement. The goal is to provide workshop attendees with tools and resources to navigate the mid-career stage including advancement to full and/or administrative pursuits.
To date, ASHE has provided dedicated workshop support for early career colleagues. This is the first time offering dedicated workshop time, beyond conference sessions, to support mid-career faculty. We note that a workshop dedicated to mid-career faculty is significant because of the unique challenges facing this career stage, as well as the paucity of programming available to mid-career faculty at their institutions and beyond.
The workshop fee of $50 for ASHE members and $75 for non-members covers materials and refreshments. While participants can pay the fee, we suggest program directors, coordinators, and/or department chairs sponsor participants through their department. A registration link with instructions for payment will be sent with the acceptance notification.
