Assistant/Associate Professor in Higher Education
The UNLV Higher Education program invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Higher Education position with the start date of August 2022. We especially invite applications from scholars with expertise in student affairs, organizational theory and institutional transformation, and higher education administration and leadership, and who approach their work through a critical lens (e.g., Critical Race Theory, Black Feminism, Queer Studies, LatCrit, DisCrit). Other combinations of research will be considered as they complement our existing areas of expertise and focus.

The UNLV Higher Education program prepares students for research, administrative, and leadership positions in higher education. Our faculty are committed to maintaining a high level of scholarship through research and scholarly activities and engage in national and international associations that add to the knowledge base locally, nationally, and internationally.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and diverse higher education program. Our faculty have established records of scholarship in the areas of intercollegiate athletics, student affairs, community colleges, higher education policy, and access, equity and student success in higher education.

We aim to recruit applicants who will provide impactful instruction and emphasize training graduate students to become productive and thoughtful scholar-practitioners. The UNLV Higher Education programs include a Master of Education degree, a Doctor of Philosophy degree, and 3 Graduate Certificate Programs (Chief Diversity Officer, College Sports Leadership, and Higher Education). Program delivery includes face-to-face, online, remote, and hybrid formats. Qualified applicants should be prepared to contribute to the teaching mission of the Higher Education program at the graduate level.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest, a detailed resume listing qualifications and experience, and the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of at least three professional references who may be contacted. Applicants should fully describe their qualifications and experience, with specific reference to each of the minimum and preferred qualifications, as this is the information on which the initial review of materials will be based.

Although this position will remain open until filled, review of candidates’ materials will begin on October 15, 2021 and best consideration will be gained for materials submitted prior to that date.
