Educational Leadership, Assistant Professor, College of Education [R0127053]
The College of Education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites qualified individuals to apply for a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor, Educational Leadership position in the dynamic and rapidly growing Educational Policy and Leadership program. The Education Policy and Leadership program serves a diverse student body in two growing programs — the M.Ed. in Educational Policy and Leadership (for aspiring educational leaders) and the Executive Educational Leadership Ed.D. (for current educational leaders). The proposed start date is Fall 2022.
This position requires an individual with experience in the scholarship and practice of educational leadership and finance, especially in urban settings, who is committed to equity, anti-racism, and improving PK-12 education for all students. The successful candidate must maintain an active program of research and grant writing. Priority will be placed on applicants whose scholarship and instructional skills and experience involve at least one of the following areas:
- school finance;
- human and fiscal management;
- school business administration and entrepreneurship; and/or
- school resource allocation and student performance.
The position also requires an individual who is adept at applying creative approaches in the preparation and development of educational leaders, including advising, recruiting, and mentoring students, developing and teaching courses, and service. This individual will be expected to teach courses in the M.Ed. in Educational Policy and Leadership and the Executive Educational Leadership Ed.D. using a variety of delivery models, including web-based and technology-supported instruction, weekend seminars, and on-campus classes.
