Assistant Professor of Adult and Lifelong Learning (Community College Emphasis)
The duties and responsibilities of this tenure-track Assistant Professor of Adult and Lifelong Learning position at the University of Arkansas include:
 
  • teaching graduate courses in the adult and lifelong learning, community college leadership, and/or higher education programs;
  • conducting research that results in refereed publications and professional presentations;
  • pursuing external funding;
  • chairing/serving on doctoral advisory and dissertation committees; and
  • engaging in service activities in the program, department, college, university, and professional/scholarly organizations.

Requirements Minimum Qualifications
 
  • An earned doctorate from a nationally recognized and accredited institution in adult and lifelong learning, community college leadership, higher education, or closely related field conferred by the start of employment
  • Commitment to an active research agenda related to community colleges as evidenced by publications, presentations, and/or funding activity
  • Ability to teach graduate courses related to community colleges
  • Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and/or social justice
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Professional experience with community colleges
  • Graduate teaching experience
  • Online teaching and/or learning experiences
  • Experience submitting and/or securing external funds
