The Higher Education Program at Northern Illinois University is seeking a full-time instructor with expertise in higher education/student affairs administration and educational research and assessment using quantitative methods.
NIU is located 65 miles west of Chicago in DeKalb, Illinois with satellite campuses around Chicagoland. The Department of Counseling and Higher Education is one of six departments in the College of Education, and has a M.S.Ed in Higher Education and Student Affairs, an Ed.D. in Higher Education with three specializations (Community College Leadership, Higher Education Administration, and College Teaching) and a minor in Social Change Leadership. The program is known for its commitment to diversity and equity with 45% of Ed.D. and Masters students identifying as students of color.
The qualified candidate is expected to teach graduate courses in higher education/student affairs administration and/or higher education research and assessment methods using quantitative approaches. Courses are delivered in different modalities including hybrid, online, and weekly face-to-face.
This position is an instructor position (4/4 teaching load) for Spring 2022 with potential for renewal for next academic year. Summer teaching for additional compensation is also available, as well as conference travel funds.
