Measurement & Evaluation Research Coordinator
The Center for Leadership in Athletics works at the intersection of sports, leadership, and education and currently has a number of programs and projects related to coach development and youth sports. Under the direction of the Center for Leadership in Athletics Faculty, the Measurement, Evaluation, and Research Coordinator (MERC) will be responsible for supporting the design and implementation of the measurement and evaluation of the CLA’s programming and grant-funded projects, as well as providing research support to ongoing and new research in the Center.

Research will contribute to related academic programs within the College of Education, including the Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership (IAL) M.Ed. program and Education, Communities, & Organizations (ECO). The position involves literature review, conducting educational research, including designing and testing instrumentation; collecting, coding, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data; and writing, editing, and reporting research findings. The person will also support the PI in submitting and executing the administration of grants at UW.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work across UWCLA programs and activities to ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation
  • Work with program staff to design and implement mixed methods evaluation and measurement tools across the programming and research portfolio
  • Provide leadership for organization and execution of quantitative and qualitative data collection.
  • Support writing of IRBs as necessary
  • Lead quantitative data management, analysis, and reporting.
  • Co-author briefs and reports for internal and external audiences that summarize major findings and author papers and dissemination activities, including presentations (virtual and in-person).
  • Analyze, synthesize, and report findings from MER work
  • Work with the Communications team on internal and external dissemination efforts
  • Participate in dissemination activities, including presentations (virtual and in-person).
  • Lead scheduling of MERC team meetings, including virtual and in-person meetings.

  • Graduate degree in M&E, public health, statistics, public policy, education, sport management, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in measurement and evaluation.
  • Understanding of best practices in social sector measurement, standards of evidence for health and education.
  • Demonstrated experience in measurement and evaluation or research, or related fields such as non-profit .management, consulting, philanthropy, or public policy.
  • Significant Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Proficient in quantitative analysis and data management; experience with SPSS, STATA or R.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and presentation skills
