Assistant Professor, Dept of Educational Administration
The University of Dayton School of Education and Health Sciences invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Educational Administration (EDA) to begin on August 16, 2022.

The EDA Department is seeking an innovative scholar, dedicated teacher, and collaborative colleague to join our growing graduate programs. The successful candidate will establish and maintain a productive research agenda while working closely with our graduate students and faculty. These programs include masters and doctoral programs in educational leadership, licensure programs for principals, superintendents and curriculum directors, and an entirely online Ed.D. program in leadership for organizations. EDA has significantly expanded the scope and reach of its programming through a partnership with 2U, an online educational technology provider.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development and success of EDA and the University of Dayton through teaching, research and service. An essential component of this position is to assist in the development and growth of our online Ed.D. program. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • contributing to and teaching in the Ed.D. program;
  • teaching the equivalent of four graduate-level courses per academic year;
  • conducting an active research program;
  • developing curricula;
  • advising graduate students;
  • chairing dissertation and dissertation-in-practice committees;
  • assessing learning outcomes; and
  • serving the department, university, community and profession.

Although this is a nine-month position, opportunities for summer teaching are typically available.

The University and EDA are committed to increasing diversity in our faculty and curriculum, building inclusive communities within our programs, and producing equitable experiences and outcomes for our students. We value our inclusive climate because we know that diversity in experiences and perspectives is vital to advancing innovation, critical thinking, solving complex problems, and creating an inclusive academic community. Because we seek a community with a wide range of perspectives and experiences, we encourage all interested candidates to apply. Applicants are encouraged to identify their strengths or experiences in these areas.
