Teaching Faculty I in Higher Education with a Leadership Specialization

Department:
The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) at Florida State University is seeking a Specialized Teaching faculty (non-tenure track) in Higher Education with a Leadership Specialization. The faculty member will hold a twelve-month contract, teaching four courses in each Fall and Spring semesters and two courses during the Summer semester.  

Florida State University has a commitment to leadership education, as seen through the Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies, undergraduate leadership course offerings, and the Leadership Learning Research Center. The Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies is an 18-credit, interdisciplinary, and experiential program that prepares students for leadership in multiple contexts. The successful candidate is committed to undergraduate instruction and advising and will contribute to our emphasis on leadership, social justice, and student success.

Responsibilities:
  • Teaching four courses in each Fall and Spring semesters and two courses during Summer semester.  
  • Contributing to development and revision of courses taught in program
  • Contributing to innovative leadership education pedagogy within the program
Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate in leadership studies, higher education, or another academic discipline with an emphasis in leadership, higher education administration, or student development.
Preferences:
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment in promoting and fostering a supportive learning environment, as well as knowledge in curriculum development.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate students.
