Associate Dean, Recruitment and Student Success
The Associate Dean for Recruitment and Student Success at Morgan State University's School of Education and Urban Studies will provide leadership to the Chairs and Faculty in pursuit of the Schools’ strategic goals with respect to enrollment and student success. This is a full-time tenured position at the level of Associate or Full Professor with administrative responsibility as Associate Dean, and a teaching assignment of one course per academic year.

Major responsibilities include:
  • Development of strategies for recruitment in the City and State. Development of advising model and faculty development plans.
  • In-depth analysis of student enrollment data within the School and the identification of market needs to inform the development of strategies for enrollment growth in all undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Design and implement recruitment activities such as Open Houses and orientation events.
  • Work with the University’s Transfer Office to develop new, and activate existing, transfer agreements with community colleges to create a pipeline of teacher candidates.
  • Analysis of patterns of course-taking and student achievement data to develop data-driven strategies for enhancing student success.
  • Develop and implement an advising model that fosters student success and provides consistent support for faculty in their advising function.
  • Function as the liaison between the School of Education and Urban Studies and the Office of the Registrar, School of Graduate studies, Transfer Office, and Undergraduate Admissions in matters related to catalog changes, grade changes, graduation requirements, curriculum changes, and other aspects of student matriculation.
  • Participate in the instructional component of faculty evaluation for promotion and tenure.
  • Develop an ongoing program of research-based faculty professional development in such areas as the innovative use of instructional technologies, faculty-student relationships, student mental and emotional well-being.
  • Serve on the School’s Leadership team.
Requested Qualifications: 
  • PhD in Education or EdD
  • Previous administrative experience.
