Research Coordinator - College Crisis Initiative (Fellow)
The College Crisis Initiative (C2i) at Davidson College seeks an inquisitive and enthusiastic Fellow to serve as Research Coordinator to manage the Research Affiliate program. Research Affiliates are external partners that work with C2i students and in return, are granted access to C2i data. Working with the Director and Assistant Director, the Fellow will collaborate on research projects related to equity and governance, environmental disasters, campus infrastructure issues, and COVID-19 and other public health-related issues.

The Research Coordinator Fellow will maintain communications with research affiliates to identify their data needs and organize collaboration between affiliates and C2i students, and assist with outside research papers and presentations in collaboration with the C2i leadership team. The coordinator will help to plan data collections, clean C2i data, and distribute datasets to external partners, while keeping track of projects using C2i data and respond to media requests pertaining to findings of C2i data. Finally, the Research Coordinator Fellow will produce high quality publications, written materials, and other media to disseminate the results of C2i research to a broad audience.

Requirements Essential Qualifications include:
  • Experience collecting quantitative or qualitative data
  • Demonstrated experience with (or potential to learn) publishing software such as Adobe InDesign or Microsoft Publisher
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and other web-design applications
  • Collaborative spirit and energetic approach to research and social impact
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with a wide variety of professionals and students
  • Bachelor’s degree

Desired (but not required) Qualifications include:
  • Member of the Davidson College Class of 2022 or 2021
  • Statistical programming experience preferred (i.e. Stata, R, SPSS).
  • Familiarity with quantitative research methods
