Professor (Open Rank/Non-Tenure Track) and Program Director
The University of Louisville seeks to hire a full-time Open Rank, Non-Tenure Track Professor to lead its undergraduate Healthcare Leadership program, which is a track within the Organizational Leadership & Learning degree.
Healthcare Leadership is a competency-based, online program designed for working adults with experience in the healthcare field. The program director will work closely with students, local employer partners, university leadership, and policymakers.
The Program Director of Healthcare Leadership is responsible for the curriculum, staffing, course scheduling, student support, student learning assessments, program evaluations and related reviews, vendor agreements, marketing/recruitment, strategic planning, advisory board and industry relationships, alumni engagement, and other programmatic matters. The Program Director is a 12-month faculty position with program leadership and teaching responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching program courses in traditional and competency-based delivery formats.
Lead and build off the successes of the bachelor’s program in healthcare leadership.
Develop and manage course facilitator processes, quality control standards, and tracking systems.
Develop and lead student coaching/advising processes, quality control standards, and tracking systems.
Report data and systems (e.g., student success progress, continuous improvement processes) to units within the university, state, accrediting bodies, and other entities.
Coordinate with the University’s Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning in matters involving the learning management system, instructional design, marketing, and other administrative processes.
Serve as Assessment Coordinator (until program grows large enough to separate out this position) by developing a scalable assessment system.
Recruit and supervise high quality course facilitators and a team of part-time evaluators/assessors/instructors.
Lead, execute, and measure strategic planning efforts.
Explore and support the development of other academic program competency-based education efforts.
Establish and cultivate relationships with advisory board members, alumni, educational providers (e.g., textbook vendors), and other program constituents.
Build and lead partnership/collaboration with corporate partners (e.g., hospitals and other healthcare providers), university stakeholders, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, and Competency-Based Education Network (C-BEN).

Requirements
Doctoral degree in an area that incorporated or complements healthcare leadership and health professions education (e.g., public health, healthcare administration, adult education, higher education, human resource development, organization development, management/business administration, or public administration).
Demonstrated ability to engage collaboratively with colleagues.
Interest and knowledge of competency-based education.
Experience with adult degree programs.
Demonstrated success or capacity to oversee development of valid/reliable assessment systems.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching from an evidence-based research perspective.
Demonstrated successful in-classroom and online instructional experiences.
Demonstrated ability to work with partners such as community groups, companies, government agencies, and other key stakeholders as appropriate to the position.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, international engagement, and working with students from multicultural backgrounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Academic program leadership experience with demonstrated success in leading new academic program development efforts.
Evidence of successful community engagement in diverse settings.
Experience as a practitioner in the corporate, non-profit, healthcare, or military sector.
Demonstrated success or the potential for success in seeking external grants and contracts.
