Clinical Assistant Professor
The Department of Educational Leadership, Evaluation, & Organizational Development in the University of Louisville's College of Education and Human Development is seeking a full-time, 12-month, clinical assistant professor (non-tenure track) with experience in postsecondary competency-based education, work-based learning, e-learning technologies, and pedagogical-content knowledge strategies. This position will be devoted to a federal grant from the Department of Labor that runs from 2020 through 2024.

The successful candidate will serve in a curricular and instructional capacity on a recently awarded multi-million-dollar grant related to apprenticeships, workforce development, competency-based education, instructional excellence, and student success coaching. In collaboration with the Director of Research and Curricular Team, the candidate will create and implement competency inventories and assessment tools, develop apprenticeship experiences, and facilitate learning of employers, students, and project teams.

Requirements - Ability to communicate and motivate a team, university colleagues, and community partners in a fast-paced, high-performance level environment with data and story-telling capacity to forward grant initiatives
- Experience guiding postsecondary faculty toward implementing learner-centered, innovative, and interactive facilitation methods from a pedagogical-content knowledge approach
- Expertise in developing instructional design training and support for technology integration in both online and blended courses, including virtual training courses and simulations based on eLearning best practices
- Demonstrated successful in-classroom teaching experience in higher education (preferred successful asynchronous online teaching experience) along with evidence-based research practices in teaching and learning and andragogical strategies, particularly with periodic all-day sessions
- Experience and extensive knowledge in designing competency-based education - including establishing competency statements, measures, and assessment tools
- Ability to design and oversee work-based learning experiences
- Demonstrated commitment to issues of equity, social justice, diversity, and students from multicultural communities and backgrounds
- Demonstrated experience of successfully supporting and mentoring students
- Willingness to work collaboratively with partners and other faculty, students, and staff
- Ability to teach working adults and/or military populations
- Ability to work within prepared curriculum guidelines but agile enough to craft courses so they are unique to the various program offerings and meet individual needs for students
- Ability to represent an academic unit and its leadership in varied settings and activities, including to motivate and hold accountable other offices and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively engage with colleagues
- Doctoral degree in Higher Education, Instructional Design & Technology, Adult Education, or a closely related field
