Postdoctoral Scholar
The Department of Education Policy Studies and Higher Education Program in the College of Education at The Pennsylvania State University invite applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work with the InformEd States project, a multi-institution research team that examines higher education policy. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work with Dr. Kelly Rosinger and other Principal Investigators from the University of Florida, Seton Hall University, and Southern Methodist University on a project that examines the equity and effectiveness of state higher education funding policies.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will collect and analyze longitudinal data on state higher education funding approaches, draft policy briefs and academic papers, present findings from the research at policy and academic conferences, and provide project management support.
 
This position is anticipated to be funded through an external grant. The anticipated position is funded for one year with excellent chance of renewal for a second year contingent upon satisfactory performance and adherence to all University policies and professional standards of conduct.

Requirements Candidates for this position should have knowledge of state higher education policy and experience cleaning, managing, and analyzing large-scale longitudinal data using Stata statistical software. A qualified candidate must hold a doctoral degree or have completed all of the requirements for a doctorate in education, education policy, higher education, or a related field by August 1, 2020.

In addition to the completed application, the following materials must be submitted for full consideration:
- A one-page cover letter summarizing qualifications and how this position fits into long-term career plans.
- Names and contact information of three people who can be contacted for reference.
- One example of scholarly writing (dissertation chapter, conference paper, or peer-reviewed journal article).
