The Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society at Boston College is seeking a post-doc with a PhD in Higher Education. Research will be primarily focused on the nature of interdisciplinary research and pedagogy, including exploring how institutes and centers within institutions can best catalyze cross-department and cross-college collaboration. The fellow will have the opportunity to study a major institute as it takes shape, and will be encouraged to develop and test hypotheses. It is expected that this will result in significant research contributions to higher education research.
Examples of areas of research include:
?Structural organization of interdisciplinary institutes (II)
?Processes to define and guide institute resource allocation and to determine strategic directions
?Preferred use and design of interdisciplinary spaces
?Pedagogical approaches to interdisciplinary teaching
The fellow will also be asked to assist the director/associate director in organizing and managing Institute activities.
