Non-Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice
The Program in Higher Education Leadership (PHEL) in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a non-tenure-track assistant or associate professor of practice who will also serve as assistant coordinator of PHEL, beginning summer or fall 2021.

We seek a candidate with experience teaching and training higher education practitioners, administrators, and scholars and with some experience coordinating an academic program area. The candidate will teach and advise PHEL graduate students at both the master’s and doctoral levels; co-supervise doctoral dissertations and treatises (and serve on committees); participate in program/course planning and development, and provide service to the department as needed. The appointment would be 50% teaching and 50% administration.

UT can offer up to an initial three-year contract for new non-tenure-track faculty, with the possibility of extension.

Requirements Required Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate in Educational Administration, Higher Education Administration/Leadership, or a closely related field;
  • Qualifications to teach courses in some of the following areas: college student development, student affairs administration, organization and administration of higher education, as well as qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed research methods; academic writing, and expertise in teaching in multiple areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and advise graduate students, especially those from diverse backgrounds Commitment to advancing the college's commitment to equity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong background in preparation of higher education researchers and/or postsecondary leaders.
  • At least three years of experience as a coordinator or administrator of graduate-level academic programs or a student-facing program at a higher education institution.
  • Research engaged, with a record of research activity, including scholarly publications, appropriate to career experience, on topics related to higher education.
