Clinical Assistant Professor of Higher Education
The Department of Education Health and Behavior Studies at the University of North Dakota invites applications for a 9-month Clinical Assistant Professor of Higher Education to teach courses, advise students, and contribute to program administration endeavors across the Higher Education graduate programs. The contract start date will be August 15, 2021, contingent on available funding. Summer teaching opportunities may also be available.

The Higher Education (HE) Programs are housed in the Department of Education, Health, and Behavior Studies (EHBS) in the College of Education and Human Development (EHD) at UND. The HE programs include a Master of Science (MS) in Higher Education, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Higher Education, and a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Practice and Leadership with a specialization in Higher Education. Students in the Higher Education graduate programs aspire to leadership positions as administrators and faculty in higher education and/or student affairs. The CAEP accredited College of Education and Human Development is in compliance with all Title II requirements, and seeks to serve preservice and in-service teachers, administrators, and other specialized education personnel with intensive integrated programs of study and a commitment to a diverse society.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Develop and teach graduate courses in multiple formats (on campus and online) (approximately 5-6 courses per academic year) across Higher Education graduate programs
- Coordinate the Higher Education specialization for the EdD in Educational Practice and Leadership
- Serve as the initial advisor for students in the Higher Education specialization of the EdD program in Educational Practice and Leadership
- Chair and serve on doctoral student dissertation committees and master’s student scholarly project committees
- Contribute to higher education scholarship
- Fulfill service roles to the Higher Education programs
- Provide service to the university, college, department, and professional associations
