Program Director and Non-Tenure Track Faculty
The Lynch School of Education and Human Development at Boston College invites applicants with extensive experience in higher education administration for a full-time (12-month) program director and non-tenure track faculty position in the department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education. This position will direct Boston College’s new Doctoral Degree in Higher Education (Ed.D.) program, and teach courses in the Higher Education master’s and doctoral programs. The Ed.D. in Higher Education aims to develop leaders with the skills, mindsets, and technical knowledge to match the changing landscape of higher education.
As the Program Director for the Ed.D. in higher education, responsibilities include program coordination, advising, student recruitment, and network development.
Successful candidates will teach courses and advise students across degree programs in Higher Education as needed. Applicants should be able to teach in multiple areas and speak to a range of audiences, from new to mid-career to senior professionals, through a lens of equity and social justice. Areas of professional and teaching expertise of particular interest include leadership and governance; Catholic higher education; international higher education; innovation and change; and student learning. The person hired will teach four graduate courses per year in addition to the program director responsibilities.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant faculty community with a strong history of collaboration. The expected start date is July 1, 2021 and will be negotiated with the Dean.
