Department Head Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development
The ELPHD Department Head reports to the Dean of the College and works collaboratively with the College leadership team to realize the vision and mission of the College. The Head is responsible for the administration of the Department and provides leadership to enhance the quality and impact of faculty research, teaching, and service efforts. The Department Head recruits, recommends, hires, and supervises faculty and departmental staff, and manages departmental budgets.

The Head promotes the department through representation in college, university, and external strategic initiatives. The Department Head may also engage in research, teaching, publication, externally funded projects, and other professional activities.

Requirements
Required:

Candidates should possess a doctorate in counselor education, educational leadership, policy studies, higher education, adult and community college education, or a closely related discipline or field.
 
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, interdisciplinary work, and collegial leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in significant leadership roles and/or university administration.
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse groups, team building, and fostering partnerships
  • Distinguished record of scholarship sufficient for appointment as a full professor in the department.

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • A successful record of grant pursuits.
  • Experience in outreach, funding agencies, and working with underserved populations.
