Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs
Established in 1892, Labouré College of Healthcare is a small private, independent college with a Catholic-guided mission to offer high-quality nursing and healthcare education, both on-campus and online, to a diverse group of students. As the longest provider of nurses in Boston, Labouré College of Healthcare has been educating healthcare professionals for 129 years. The dedicated faculty, small class sizes, and innovative curriculum provide students, predominately adult learners from all backgrounds, the opportunity to learn and grow in the healthcare industry. Labouré is located in Milton, Massachusetts, less than 10 miles from Boston, one of the most preeminent centers for healthcare and research.

The Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA) reports directly to the president and works collaboratively with the other members of the president’s council to achieve the College’s strategic goals and vision of excellence. As Chief Academic Officer, the VPASA provides strategic leadership for the academic enterprise, providing leadership for the academic programs, student services, and related administrative offices. The position is responsible for enrollment, policy governance, budget, data management and analysis, and assisting in the design and development of new academic programs. The VPASA provides leadership for deans, department heads, and faculty within an environment of shared governance, and fosters a climate of collegiality that is conducive to teaching, learning, service, and ongoing development of faculty, staff, and students. Providing leadership to the office of student affairs, the registrar, and the library, the next VPASA will maintain excellence as it relates to student retention, persistence, and graduation as key indicators of success. In collaboration with the vice president for institutional effectiveness, the VPASA ensures accreditation standards are met, and upholds academic standards, policies, and procedures.

The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, a steadfast and unwavering ethical compass, proven financial and budget management skills, experience with professional and regional accrediting agencies, the capacity to inspire curricular and co-curricular innovation and program development, familiarity with diverse modes of course and program delivery (including on-campus, hybrid, and online), demonstrated understanding of dynamic advising strategies to support the adult learner, a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, a demonstrated commitment to shared governance and collaborative working relationships, and an affinity for the distinctive mission and character of the College.
