Professional Bio
Ana M. Martínez-Alemán is Professor and Associate Dean for Faculty and Academics at the Lynch School of Education and Human Development at Boston College. Her authored and edited books include Voices of Campus Sexual Violence Activists: #MeToo and Beyond, Critical Approaches to the Study of Higher Education; Technology and Engagement: Making Technology Work for First-Generation College Students; and sole author, Accountability, Pragmatic Aims, and the American University. Her scholarship appears in the Journal of Higher Education, Teachers College Record, Educational Theory, The Teacher Educator, Feminist Interpretations of John Dewey, Educational Researcher, the Review of Higher Education, The Journal of College Student Development, and Change: The Magazine of Higher Education. Martínez-Alemán has served as the President of the Association for the Study if Higher Education (ASHE), Vice-President, Division J, American Educational Researchers Association, and various professional leadership positions. Her research, administrative and professional work focuses on race, ethnicity, and gender effects on campus culture and policies.
