2027 ASHE Conference: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Venue: Albuquerque Convention Center
Date: November 17-20, 2027

Our conference was last hosted in Albuquerque in 1997. The city of more than 500,000 people is the homeland of 19 Pueblos. The culture of Albuquerque is evident from the moment you walk off the plane (at an airport accessible by all major airlines) and locals quickly remind you that the delicious food is New Mexican, not Mexican or Southwestern. 

The Convention Center will be able to accommodate the entirety of the conference breakout sessions and general sessions and has ample room for mixing and mingling in the hallways. The Double Tree Hotel is connected via skywalk, and the other two hotels we would use are within a block. Evening receptions would be hosted in the hotels to allow attendees to explore the area.

One of the unique aspects of hosting in a city like Albuquerque is that we would be a ‘city-wide’ event. This means that the size of our group will have a large impact on the city. As such, the city will put up ASHE banners in the airport and near the convention centers, nearby restaurants will have signage welcoming our attendees, and we will have greater leverage in our planning.

2028 ASHE Conference: Providence, Rhode Island

Venue: Rhode Island Convention Center
Date: November 15-18, 2028

Providence is the state capital of Rhode Island and has much to offer attendees. In addition to being accessible by plane and car, Providence is also on the Amtrak line and would offer attendees from the East Coast an additional affordable travel option. There is also a shuttle from the Boston airport for international travelers or others who find more affordable flights to and from Boston. The restaurants and stores near the Convention Center are locally owned, and the mall attached to the Omni Hotel offers chain stores and restaurants.

The Convention Center will be able to accommodate most of the conference breakout sessions and general sessions and has ample room for mixing and mingling in the hallways. The Omni, connected to the Convention Center, would also host breakout sessions and some evening receptions. The walk between these two is seamless.
