Professional Bio

Dreama Rhodes is a doctoral student in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. She earned a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Education Studies from UCLA, where upon graduating worked as a Student Affairs Officer. Her professional experience originally sparked her interest in researching equitable policies and practices in higher education.

Dreama completed an MEd at Arizona State University and contributed to an interdisciplinary research team that centered the voices of Black doctoral students who left their programs and examined the institutional practices associated with inequitable student outcomes. Her individual research focused on the timing and implementation of racial equity initiatives at higher education institutions. This work led to her current research interests, which center on institutional responses to sociopolitical pressures that influence the capacity to foster inclusive campus environments.
