Professional Bio

Lisa Wolf-Wendel is the Roy A. Roberts Distinguished Professor of Higher Education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Kansas, where she also serves as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the School of Education and Human Sciences. An AERA Fellow and an inaugural ASHE Fellow, Dr. Wolf-Wendel is a nationally recognized scholar whose research focuses on equity and faculty issues in higher education, including the academic labor market, international and underrepresented faculty, dual‑career couples, work–family integration, and faculty experiences during COVID. She is the author of numerous books and peer‑reviewed journal articles, including Academic Motherhood, which received the AERA Division J Outstanding Publication Award. A former president of the Association for the Study of Higher Education, Dr. Wolf-Wendel is the editor of New Directions in Higher Education and has received multiple honors for her research, teaching, and service.
