Professional Bio

Nia D. Hall is a doctoral candidate in the Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education and serves as a research associate in the Campus Abolition Research Lab at the University of Michigan. Her research interests broadly examine issues of race, racism, and anti-Blackness in higher education with an emphasis on the history and evolution of campus policing, abolitionist praxis in higher education, and campus resistance movements. Nia's dissertation examines institutional responses to campus activism and the ways students experience, interpret, and respond to institutional power in higher education.
