The "How" of Public Scholarship: Insights from the Inaugural ASHE Public Scholarship Award Recipients
Join Us Virtually via Zoom
Event Details
Join ASHE members Jorge Burmicky, Kevin R. McClure, and Wonsun Ryu for a conversation with Awards Committee Chair Brian McGowan on the "how" of public scholarship. Their report, "Competencies for the College Presidency," was the inaugural recipient of the ASHE Public Scholarship Award, which recognizes significant contributions to higher education presented outside traditional venues to create an engaged landscape that serves the public good.
The authors will share behind-the-scenes insights into collecting data from over 700 presidents and collaborating with professional associations to amplify their reach. Discover how their multi-channel engagement—including podcasts and ready-to-use presentation materials—is shaping the future of higher education through actionable impact.
While this session will not discuss the report itself, members are welcome to watch the Academic Search webinar to learn more about the research findings.
