Organization Overview

Programs in Higher Education at Claremont Graduate University include the MA in Education in Student Affairs & Educational Justice and the PhD in Education in Higher Education & Student Affairs. Both programs reflect the School of Educational Studies’ mission to prepare leaders who advance positive change through education, research, and practice.

Grounded in a commitment to educational equity, social justice, and meaningful impact, our programs develop scholar-practitioners who understand colleges and universities not simply as institutions to be studied, but as dynamic environments with the potential to transform lives, communities, and society.

Our graduates bring this perspective to a wide range of professional roles—as student affairs professionals, administrators, faculty members, researchers, and senior leaders—across community colleges, colleges and universities, professional schools, and other educational organizations. They leave CGU prepared to connect scholarship with practice, address complex institutional challenges, and help shape the future of higher education.
