Academic Leaders Summit

Tuesday, November 3, 2026
8:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Atlantic Standard Time)
30 Seats Remaining

We've heard your feedback! Over the past four years, the ASHE Academic Leaders Workshop has been a staple event for academic leaders. For 2026, we are clarifying and expanding our support for academic leaders:

  • New & Aspiring Academic Leaders Workshop: This virtual workshop is intended for those who are considering moving or have recently moved into leadership positions at the academic program, department, college, or university level.

  • Academic Leaders Summit: This in-person gathering is intended for those who are currently in leadership positions at the academic program, department, college, or university level.

We hope you will consider attending one of these events and share them with your institutional leaders.

The Inaugural ASHE Academic Leaders Summit brings together academic leaders for a day of dialogue, community, and wellness. As higher education scholars, ASHE members bring unique perspective of the field, and as academic leaders, you are now tasked with applying that very scholarship to navigate complex institutional environments. While this deep expertise means you often know more than most about how universities function and especially the empirical data that supports that knowledge, it also introduces distinct challenges when translating theory into leadership practice. This summit offers a unique opportunity to network, share insights, and engage in meaningful discussions with fellow ASHE members who share this unique duality.

Participants will engage with colleagues and peers to examine current trends, explore innovative practices, and bridge the gap between higher education research and daily leadership. The day-long event emphasizes both professional growth and personal well-being, recognizing the distinct demands placed on scholar-leaders. Through workshops, case studies, and networking opportunities, attendees will leave with actionable ideas, renewed confidence, and a supportive community of colleagues committed to advancing higher education through thoughtful, inclusive, and evidence-based leadership.

This workshop is designed for those who are currently in leadership positions at the academic program, department, college, or university level. Are you an aspiring academic leader in your department, college, or university level? Consider attending the ASHE Academic Leaders Workshop (info about the 2027 event will be available in late 2026).
