Professional Bio
Brittany M. Williams, Ph.D., is a speaker, writer, facilitator, and educator from Southwest Atlanta and a proud product of Atlanta Public Schools. Her research broadly examines issues of (in)equity in higher education, primarily focusing on Black women and girls through career and identity development, social class(ism), and the nexus of education and health. She also presents and consults on citational (in)equality issues as part of her legacy work on #CiteASista. Her research and scholarship have been funded by the National Academy of Education (NAEd)/ Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship, the Spencer Foundation, NSF, and NIH. Moreover, she has been featured in and by the White House Initiative on HBCUs, National Public Radio, the National Minority Aids Council, and in a host of academic journals. Brittany is currently an Associate Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration at the University of Vermont.
