Professional Bio
Dr. Natasha N. Croom is a critical race feminist scholar-practitioner committed to working in and with communities to support the creation of equity-based practices and policies. She serves as a national education equity consultant, facilitator, keynote speaker, and guest lecturer to university communities as well as public education policy non-profit organizations.
Dr. Croom’s research in the areas of faculty advancement, Black womyn in higher education, and equity praxis, has been shared in The Review of Higher Education, Negro Educational Review, International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, Equity & Excellence in Education, About Campus, and the Journal for Student Affairs Research and Practice. Dr. Croom is also currently co-editor in chief of the Journal of Women and Gender in Higher Education.
As Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs in The Graduate School at Clemson University, Dr. Croom works with the Office of Graduate Admissions, student academic progress processes, orientation and onboarding initiatives, funding efforts (i.e., assistantships, fellowships), recognition awards, and the Inclusive Excellence Strategic Plan in the Graduate School. She serves as Chair of the Graduate Council, as well as the Graduate Fellowships and Awards Committee. Foregrounding an equity lens, she works collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and other divisions and units across campus to resolve dilemmas that may interfere with a graduate student’s overall well-being and academic success.
