Organization Overview

The School of Counseling, Higher Education, Leadership and Foundations (SCHELF) at Bowling Green State University offers graduate programs in counseling (M.A., M.Ed.), higher education administration (Ph.D.), college student personnel (M.A.), educational leadership (M.Ed., Ed.S., licensure), leadership studies (Ph.D.), and cross-cultural and international education (M.A.). In addition, it offers several graduate and undergraduate courses in educational psychology, assessment, statistics, research methodology, and social foundations. Graduates transform lives and organizations throughout the state, nation and world. We maintain high standards of academic and professional competence consistent with state and national standards and accrediting bodies. Several programs in our school – clinical mental health counseling, school counseling and educational leadership (principal and superintendent) – lead to professional licensure. Graduates of SCHELF programs work in schools, universities, non-profit agencies, hospitals, healthcare organizations, business and industry, government and other human resource organizations.
